Thinking of buying a roll up banner – what to consider

Roll Up Banners

Roll up banners have always been popular, and their popularity hasn’t decreased over time. You can still see pop up banners in many locations, whether it’s at an outdoor event, an exhibition, a conference or trade show, or just inside the premises of a business or commercial establishment. Indeed, roller banners are so versatile that they are available in most any size imaginable and can be placed both indoors and outdoors.

But when it comes to the proper size, colour, and font for your roller banner, what should you consider? Here are the most crucial roller banner considerations you should think about.

The size

The size of your roller banner will greatly depend on where it will be used. If you would like your banner to be viewed from a distance, then it obviously needs to be big. But roller banners, as mentioned, come in different sizes and even widths. You can even have a mini roller banner created which can easily be placed on top of a desk!

The colours

With colours, you have carte blanche, meaning you can choose to have your roller banner display full-on colouring or just have it made with one single colour. In most cases, it’s really up to you. But when choosing colours for your roller banner, make sure they complement each other. You also have to make sure the colours fit well with your company logo or theme. You wouldn’t want pink if your business is finance-related, the same way you wouldn’t want black if you are offering children’s toys. The colours can be bright or muted, again depending on the type of business or product you have.

When choosing a colour for the background, make sure that the core message of your banner can still be read. For this, you may benefit from the use of a colour wheel. For example, a black background can go well with light-coloured text, and vice versa.
The fonts

The fonts also make a difference in roller banners. Here is one essential reminder: stick with just one single font, or two at the most. And, if you choose two, they should fit well with each other. The size of the font will also depend on where your banner will be placed. Ideally, if you want your banner to be read from 40 metres away, the height of the letters should be three inches. To be read from a maximum of 80 metres away, the height of the letters should be six inches. For your banner to be read from a maximum of 100 metres, the height of the letters should be about nine inches. Keep in mind, though, that certain types of fonts (such as fonts in script form) can be more difficult to read than most, so keep your fonts simple as well.
